Note: The candidature for this project should be sent at least 16 weeks before arrival.  Confirmation on this project will be given only upon host family selection.

The Educational Centre “Munting Tahanan” is one of various activities offered by the association CFMW Italia (Commission for Filipino Migrant Workers Italia) founded in 1996 by a group of Filipinos leaving in Italy together with Italians. The Educational Centre “Munting Tahanan” that in Tagalog means “small house” is a multi-ethnic educational centre hosting small children from 0 to 5 years old.

The children and the educational staff are from various nationalities and origins, though the majority is coming from the Philippines.

People & Volunteers

Volunteer tasks 

  • Participation in the pedagogical and ludic activities with children.
  • Contribution to the daily activities linked to children (hygiene, food, sleep).
  • Contribution to the maintenance and good care of the venue.
  • If capable, contribution to the preparation of educational material.
  • According to the volunteer’s competences, contribution to the development of music, arts and motor activities.

Pick up: Termini Train Station or Trastevere Train Station



The Intercultural Kidegarten is based in the beautiful capital of Italy, Rome, not far form the Vatican city (20 minutes walk far from the Vatican).

Working hours

The volunteer will work about 7 hours every day from Monday to Friday, and will have 2 days off every week.

The usual shifts should be from 8:30 to 3:30 pm with a lunch break, even if we ask volunteer to be flexible on those shifts as they might vary according to the kindergarten needs.

Days off

The volunteer will have two days off per week.


The volunteer will be living with the host family or in a hostel. Breakfast is always guaranteed  and from Monday to Friday lunch will be offered in the kindergarten.

Blankets and bedlinen are already in the accommodation.


WI-FI:The kidergaten has Wi-fi but staff and volunteers are not allowed to use it while doing the activities with kids.
